Women’s Golf to Wrap Up Regular Season in Florida

ANDERSON, S.C. -- Anderson's women's golf team travels to Florida next week (April 1-2) to compete in the Lady Moc Classic 2.0 hosted by Florida Southern at The Club at Eaglebrooke.

"We are very excited about this week in Florida," said Director of Golf and Women's Golf Head Coach Denton Moore. "The Club at Eaglebrooke is a new course we haven't seen before. This is our final regular season event, and it is easily the best field we have played in. This should be a great tune up for the postseason."

Of the sixteen teams competing, thirteen are ranked Top-25 nationally: No. 1 Dallas Baptist, No. 2 Nova Southeastern, No. 3 Flagler, No. 5 Rollins, No. 8 Anderson, No. 9 Barry, No. 12 Lynn, No. 15 Saint Leo, No. 18 Grand Valley State, No. 19 Wingate, No. 21 Lander, No. 23 Tampa and No. 25 Florida Southern. Also in the field are No. 33 Eckerd, No. 40 West Florida and No. 48 Embry-Riddle.

"The field includes DBU who is No. 1 nationally and a team we have not seen before either. We also have all the Florida schools there as well. Nove, Flagler and Rollins are all Top-5 teams. It's going to be a great test for us."

The Trojans lineup includes Kennedy McGaha (Honea Path, S.C.), Jessica Rathbone (Montpelier, Va.), Kennedy Gooding (Lexington, S.C.), Zoey Iglesias (Port St. Lucie, Fla.) and Aly Francis (Stockbridge, Ga.). Paige Paolucci (Blythewood, S.C.) and Yvette Gorden (Montgomery, Ala.) will also be competing as individuals.

"Our starting lineup will be K Mac, Jess, KG, Zoey and Aly. We will also have P and Vette playing as individuals," said Moore. "We have played everyone all year, and this is the final push for the post season lineup. We have 6 players ranked inside the Top-70 nationally. I believe we are one of the best and deepest teams in the country. We are about to find out where we stack up."

The tournament will begin Monday morning for 36 holes, followed by 18 holes on Tuesday. Live results will be posted here.

"Very excited about this new event, and I can't wait to go to battle with Coach Castles and the girls. After this, we will turn all of our focus towards the SAC Championship. Go Trojans!"
