Women’s Golf Trio Earns WGCA All-America Honors

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – Following yet another impressive campaign, rising senior Jessica Rathbone, along with rising juniors Zoey Iglesias and Kennedy McGaha have earned All-America honors from the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA), as announced late Thursday morning.

The trio helped lead the Trojans to a 10th place finish in their second consecutive appearance in the NCAA National Championships after AU claimed its second straight conference championship and third league title in four seasons.

Rathbone, who captured WGCA All-Region accolades two weeks ago, has been named a Second-Team All-American, while Iglesias and McGaha collected Honorable Mention All-America accolades.

A native of Montpelier, Va., Rathbone was named the 2023 South Atlantic Conference Golfer of the Year and finished as runner-up at the 2023 SAC Championships after being named First-Team All-SAC for the third consecutive season. She boasted a 73.44 stroke average at the conclusion of the season and is currently ranked 25th in the nation by Golfstat after recording a season-low 4-under 68 in the final round of the season-opening Dallas Baptist Classic and fired a 3-under 69 on two occasions.

Rathbone won Lee's City with Spirit Classic and notched nine top-15 finishes, including four inside the top-4 and was named SAC Golfer of the Week in October. Last week, she earned CSC Academic All-District honors for the second straight year.

Iglesias was also a First-Team All-SAC honoree and wrapped up the season ranked 41st nationally by Golfstat. The Port St. Lucie, Fla., native owned a 74.56 stroke average after notching nine top-20 finishes this past year, including a pair of top-5 finishes and a runner-up performance at the Lady Bearcat Classic.

She carded a season-low 3-under 69 in the second round of the St. Leo Invitational and twice matched the 10th-best three-round score in program history with a 216 at the St. Leo Invitational and again at the Lady Bearcat Classic.

McGaha, the AU Female Athlete of the Year and a First-Team All-SAC honoree, closed out the year with a 74.41 stroke average and is currently ranked 43rd by Golfstat. The Honea Path native posted a pair of runner-up finishes – at North Georgia's LeeAnn Noble Memorial and the Findlay Spring Invite – while recording six top-11 finishes this year, including five finishes in the top three.

She carded the third-lowest three-round score in program history with a 211 at the St. Leo Invitational and matched the fifth-best score in school history with a 214 at the DBU Classic, while finishing lower than 25th just five times in 11 tournaments. McGaha posted a season-low 5-under 67 in the second round of St. Leo Invitational, while firing a 3-under 69 on three occasions.
