ANDERSON, S.C. - Laken Maxwell of the Anderson University softball team has been selected as the Jimmy John's Athlete of the Week.
Maxwell, a senior from Bowdon, Ga., earned three wins on the week while helping Anderson go 4-0 and push their overall SAC record to 16-2. In Maxwell's two starts, she only allowed three hits while striking out 18 and 15 batters, respectively. She returned to action in both game two's, earning her third win on the week and collecting eight more strikeouts for a total of 41 on the week. Maxwell gave up just five hits in 17.2 innings pitched, including a one-hitter vs Coker. She boasted a 0.40 ERA for the week.
