ROCK HILL, S.C.– Anderson University senior pitcher Laken Maxwell has been named the South Atlantic Conference WePlayed Sports Softball Pitcher of the Week for games played during the ninth week of the 2024 season.

Maxwell, a senior from Bowdon, Ga., had a fantastic week in the circle, earning three wins in two starts. She recorded 16 strikeouts with 11 in a row to start the game versus Tusculum and went on to pitch the complete game shutout. Maxwell then followed up with a five-inning no-hit shutout versus Newberry and was called back to the circle in game two against the Wolves, pitching one inning and earning her 13^th win on the season to become the SAC leader in total wins.

Anderson travels to Carson-Newman on Thursday. First-pitch is slated for 1 pm.
