TROJANS' REGULAR SEASONS TO CONCLUDE LIVE ON AIR

ANDERSON, SC--After three years of success broadcasting Trojan basketball on 1280 am, and live on their streaming webcast, Anderson University is branching out; on Monday, April 13 and Tuesday, April 14, the AU and its broadcast partner, Action Enterprises will join Red Zone Media in producing two live pilot broadcasts, a program developed to determine the feasibility of live broadcasts in Softball and Baseball as early as next season. "We are thrilled to be taking our broadcasts to the next level with the addition of softball and baseball," said Anderson University athletic director, Nancy Simpson. "This will be bring the live action of these games home to families and supporters." The pilot program that has been arranged is an attempt to gauge listenership and interest, but most importantly it is an attempt that moves toward gaining Trojan student-athletes even broader exposure than they currently have. The idea to go the direction of broadcasting only on the internet is one that has made this opportunity even more immediately attainable. Anderson alum Dan Hallman is the president and founder of Action Enterprises, and has been working alongside Anderson University and its athletic department to jumpstart the project. "After some consideration, we have decided to go the route of internet-only broadcasts because it is very cost-effective," said Mr. Hallman. "Plus we are able reach a larger audience and have the same audio quality, if not better, than we have with AM radio." The Pilot broadcasts are going to include three games in a matter of two days. First, live from Memorial Stadium on April 13 at 6:00 PM, the Trojan baseball team will host Carson-Newman for their season-finale, then on April 14 at 4:00 PM, with the Beville Cup on the line, the Lady Trojan softball team will host rival Erskine for their last doubleheader of the year at Smethers Field. Play-by-play for each game will be done by former Trojan soccer player, Asa Moran, and beside him providing color commentary will be former AU basketball player and rising senior, Jonathan Mattox. Follow the link below to Red Zone Media; there you will find a listing of dates and fixtures. All that is required to listen to the broadcasts are an internet connection and Windows Media Player.
