<b>LADY TROJANS LOSE TWO ON ROAD TO LIONS</b>

MARS HILL, NC--The Anderson University Lady Trojan softball team was swept Wednesday at Ponder Park on the campus of Mars Hill College, dropping below the .500 mark for the first time, as The Lady Lions won the first game 2-1 and the second game 3-1. The Lady Trojans drop to 14-15 on the season while Mars Hill moves to 11-9. In the first game, Mars Hill struck first in the bottom of the fifth inning when Ashley Seawell singled up the middle, scoring Rebekah Huff, giving the Lions a 1-0 lead. Later in the inning, Tara West singled up the middle to score Seawell and increase Mars Hill's advantage to 2-0. AU would rally with one run in the top half of the next inning, as Kayla Williams grounded out, moving Amber Sutherland across home plate to cut the deficit to 2-1. Good pitching was a Achilles heel again for the Lady Trojans, as Mars Hill hurler Tiffany Farthing retired the final four Trojan batters of the game to post a win for Mars Hill. Farthing allowed only one run on two hits while striking out nine batters to get a win and move to 3-2 on the year. The Lady Trojans got on the board first in game two, with a run in the top of the second inning. Lyndsey Huitt singled, and drove in Meredith Knox to give the AU a 1-0 lead. With two outs in the bottom of the third inning, Ashley Angell reached base on a fielding error by Duncan, and the Lions' Seawell made the Lady Trojans pay with a two-run shot to left, giving the Lady Lions a 2-1 edge. Harber added an run for Mars Hill got an insurance run in the bottom of the fifth inning, and that is how it would end. Alex Waldroup dropped game two for the Lady Trojans with a good outing; she threw a complete game and allowed three runs on six hits. AU returns home tomorrow as they will take on Claflin University at Smethers Field. The doubleheader is set to start at 2:00pm.
