Men’s Cross Country Climbs into Southeast Region’s Top Ten

NEW ORLEANS - The Anderson men's cross country team has climbed into 10th place in the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) DII Regional Rankings.

The Trojans, who were unranked in the preseason and first two weeks of the regular season campaign, join fellow South Atlantic Conference members Mars Hill and Queens, which are ranked fifth and ninth, respectively. Lenoir-Rhyne, which was tabbed 10th in the preseason, and Wingate, which was ranked ninth following the first week of action, have dropped out of the top 10. The Peach Belt Conference leads the way with five ranked squads, while the SAC boasts three and Conference Carolinas notched two teams, including top-ranked Mount Olive.

"I was very pleased with the guy's performance last weekend," said Anderson head coach Randy Greer. "I am glad they were recognized by jumping into the top 10 in the region."

He finished 37th in a time of 27:17.3, while senior Parks Edwards placed 45th with a season-best time of 27:31.3. Junior Joshua Visi-Clark captured 61st in a time of 28:10.0.
