Men's Soccer Loses 3-2 in OT to Lincoln Memorial

HARROGATE, Tenn – The Anderson University men's soccer team came up short on Saturday (Oct. 30) in a 3-2 overtime loss to Lincoln Memorial.

Anderson came into the match with a 6-0-1 record in the month of October, and a 10-2-2 record overall. In their last match, the Trojans finished in a 1-1 draw against Mars Hill on senior day at Spero Financial Field last weekend.

The Trojans got on the scoreboard early in the second minute as Eloy Allimadi scored his fourth goal of the season, courtesy of an assist from Alexandre Cox-Ashwood. Not even two minutes later, Lincoln Memorial equalized the score with a goal of their own. Midway through the second half, the Railsplitters found the back of the net once again to take a 2-1 lead into halftime.

In the 57th minute, Alexandre Cox-Ashwood scored his 13th goal of the season, which ties him for the most in the SAC. He has scored in six of the last eight matches in the month of October.

The score remained deadlocked at 2-2 going into overtime. In the second overtime period, Lincoln Memorial scored the golden goal to propel the Railsplitters to victory on their senior day.

The Trojans will be back in action on Wednesday (Nov. 3) as they will travel to face Coker. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m., with video and live stats available at www.autrojans.com.
