Men's Soccer Falls to Limestone 4-0

GAFFNEY, S.C. – The Anderson University men's soccer team dropped their first South Atlantic Conference contest of the season with a 4-0 loss at the Limestone University Saints.

It was a back and forth first half of play, as both teams were able to create scoring opportunities despite the forty-five minutes ending in a 0-0 score. The Trojans outshot the Saints 2-0 for the first half, with Tre Jackson and Eloy Allimadi taking shots.

Everything went right for the Saints in the second half as they scored four goals as a team, with the first one coming in the 46th minute just as the second half was underway.

The Trojans came into Wednesday night's match off an emotional 5-2 win against Lander, and a 3-2 victory against Mount Olive in the match before that. Alexandre Cox-Ashwood was a standout star for the Trojans as he scored five goals with one assist. His performance earned him SAC Astroturf Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, and United Soccer Coaches National Player of the Week honors.

The Trojans will continue their season on Saturday (Sept. 18) as they travel to take on Catawba in the second conference game of the season. The match is scheduled to begin at 8:00 PM, with video and live stats available at www.autrojans.com.
