ANDERSON, S.C. - With its 1-0 victory over Tusculum on Sunday, the Anderson University men's soccer team has rattled off three-straight wins, as the Trojans look to match its longest winning streak of the season on Wednesday when they host Newberry. Kickoff from Trojan Stadium is set for 4:30 p.m.

The Trojans
Anderson returns to the Upstate after going 3-1 on a four-match road stretch that saw victories over two South Atlantic Conference teams. With the impressive road trip, the Trojans improved to 7-2-1 overall and 3-2 in conference play. With AU's seventh win on Sunday, the Trojans clinched a better record than last season's six wins, a team that captured its third straight conference tournament championship.

In the conference standings, Anderson is currently in a three-way tie for second with Wingate and Mars Hill as each team posts 3-2 SAC records. Queens carries a convincing lead in the standings with a perfect 5-0 conference record and is currently six points ahead of the trio in second place. With a three-way tie for second, there is also a three-way tie for fifth with Catawba, Coker and Lincoln Memorial all have a 2-2-1 conference records.

Junior midfielder Mattias Schyberg netted the game-winner against Tusculum for his third goal of the season. Schyberg is now tied with freshman forward Aaron Roberson in points with 11, two points away from redshirt sophomore Andre Carle who leads the team in the category. Carle and Roberson have combined for 11 goals on the season, as Schyberg and freshman Paul von Hinueber closely follow the duo with three goals apiece.

Freshman goalkeeper Bo Haug has been solid in AU's last three matches, contributing greatly in the team's winning streak. Haug has two shutouts with seven saves in the last three matches, including key stops to preserve the shutouts and blank North Georgia in the second half of their 4-3 overtime win.

The Wolves
Newberry has gotten off to a slow start to the 2013 season, as it enters Wednesday's contest with a 1-8-1 overall record and a 1-3-1 record in the conference. The slow start translates into NC's matches as the Wolves have been outscored 16-3 in the first half this season. For the season, Newberry has given up 3.2 goals per match.

Freshman Graham Jermstad leads the Wolves in all offensive categories, including goals (3) and shots (30). Senior Jay Barajas is currently second on the team in shots, but is 18 away from Jermstad's total of 30.

In goal, senior Patrick Sweatt and junior Nicholas Lucido have shared time as the starting goalkeeper with Sweatt making six starts and Lucido tallying four. Sweatt has Newberry's lone win on the year and posts 22 saves with a 1.92 goals against average.

The Series
Since joining the SAC in 2010, Anderson has controlled the series over Newberry, as the Trojans hold a 3-0 advantage as conference rivals. In last year's meeting, AU came away with a 2-1 victory as Martin Brain notched the game-winner in the 27th minute.
