ROCK HILL, S.C. – The Anderson University women's track and field team has been selected to finish fifth at the 2024 South Atlantic Conference Women's Indoor Track and Field Championship, according to the Preseason Coaches' Poll released Monday, December 4.
Wingate ranked first in the poll and received 11 first-place votes and 143 points in the preseason poll.
Lenoir-Rhyne earned the second spot with two first-place votes and 130 points, while Catawba placed third in the poll with 120 points. Carson-Newman landed fourth with 112 points, followed by Anderson at No. 5 with 104 points.
Limestone came in at No. 6 with 85 points, followed by Newberry at No. 7 with 71 points and Lincoln Memorial in eighth with 67 points.
Tusculum took the No. 9 spot with 59 points, while Mars Hill earned the No. 10 spot with 46 points. Rounding out the poll at No. 12 and No. 13 is Coker and UVA Wise with 26 and 16 points.
In addition to the preseason poll, the SAC also released the Indoor Track & Field Athletes to Watch list. This list includes the top athletes from each school to keep an eye on during the 2023-24 indoor track & field season. The full list of athletes to watch is listed below by team.
The 2023-24 Indoor Track & Field season began this weekend and will continue until the 2023 SAC Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field Championship at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, N.C. Feb. 24-25.
