Women’s Soccer to Conduct “Kick ALS” Night

ANDERSON, S.C. - As the 2014 Anderson University women's soccer regular season winds down, the program will conduct its "Kick ALS " Night on Wednesday, Oct. 29 when it squares off against archrival Erskine at 3 p.m. as it will look to raise awareness and funds to Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, or Lou Gehrig's Disease.

In addition to the long-standing rivalry, the Trojans will be donning red jerseys that will be auctioned off on the team's Facebook page leading up to the contest. All proceeds from the jerseys will be donated to the ALS Foundation, which raised over $100 million during the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge phenomenon earlier this year.

Each red jersey will be sold separately with the minimum bid being $20. To bid on the specially worn jerseys, fans must "like" the Anderson University Women's Soccer page and comment their bid on the photo of the preferred jersey. The auction will begin on Friday at noon and close at noon on Wednesday. Winners of the jerseys will be announced on the Facebook page, as the shirts will be washed and shipped by the team.

Donations will also be collected at the match, as Trojan Stadium will be draped by posters made by the players with ALS facts. Checks made payable to Anderson University women's soccer.
