Men's Soccer Ranked Sixth in United Soccer Coaches Region Poll

ANDERSON, S.C. – The Anderson University men's soccer team has bene ranked sixth in the United Soccer Coaches Southeast Region poll, announced on Tuesday (Sept. 5).

"It is always nice to get some recognition," said coach Michael Zion. "Although, we must keep working if we want to be there when it really matters."

Coker University topped the rankings after defeating Nova Southeastern and finishing in a draw versus Barry University. The Cobras are ranked 11th in the national poll for their recent success. Other South Atlantic Conference schools ranked in the region poll are Tusculum (No.3), Limestone (No.4), Mars Hill (No.7), Lincoln Memorial (No.8), and Carson-Newman (No.9).

Anderson had a successful trip down to Florida this past weekend, coming away with an upset win over No.3 nationally ranked Barry University by a score of 3-2, while dropping the contest to Nova Southeastern 2-0 to conclude the road trip.

The Trojans kick off SAC action on Saturday (Sept. 9) as they travel to Jefferson City, TN to take on Carson-Newman. Game time is scheduled for 7:30 p.m., with video and live stats available at autrojans.com.
