Men’s Basketball Ranked Eighth in Southeast Region D2SIDA Poll

ANDERSON, S.C. – The Anderson men's basketball team, which is riding a four-game win streak and has won six of its last seven decisions, has been rewarded for its hard work by being tabbed eighth in the most recent D2SIDA Southeast Region Media Poll, as announced Monday morning.

"It is always great to be recognized when you are playing good team basketball, but we have to continue to stay focused on the next game/opponent," said Anderson head coach Jeff Brookman. "Our goal is to improve on a daily basis and stay committed to the process of becoming a better team on and off the court."

The Trojans (13-7, 8-6 SAC) are currently tied for fourth place in the league standings, alongside Tusculum, and have won nine of their last 12 outings.

With their January win over 17th-ranked Queens, the Trojans earned their second home win of the season over a nationally-ranked team – after knocking off 20th-ranked Belmont Abbey at the Abney Center in mid-December.

The Men's Basketball Division II Media Poll, sponsored by D2SIDA, is in its sixth year of existence. The regional poll is released every Monday, followed by the national poll every Tuesday. Each region has six representatives that comprise the regional poll. The national poll has 16 voters - 2 from each region.
