ROCK HILL, S.C. – Anderson University senior guard Shawn Benard has been named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played during week five of the 2019-20 season, the Conference announced today.
The native of Mobile, Ala., led the Trojans to a 75-71 win over Carson-Newman in SAC play last week. He scored a career-high 29 points, while hauling in 10 rebounds with four assists, two steals and a block in the game. He shot 52.4 percent from the floor, while hitting 42.9 percent from three-point range.
Anderson travels to SAC opponent Newberry on Wednesday. Tip-off is slated for 7:30 p.m.
