Trojan Men’s Basketball to Face Clemson in Exhibition

ANDERSON, S.C. – Anderson University head men's basketball coach Jeff Brookman has announced that the Trojans will visit Clemson for an exhibition game scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 30, at Littlejohn Coliseum.

Clemson played host to Conference Carolinas-member Barton in a preseason contest last season, defeating the Bulldogs, 89-80, in early November en route to posting a 20-14 overall record and going 9-9 in the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Tigers went on to advance to the second round of the 2019 NIT before falling, 63-55, to Wichita State.

Less than a week after the exhibition, Clemson is slated to open its regular season at home against Virginia Tech, while the Trojans will square off against Lander on Nov. 8 in St. Augustine, Fla.

"We are very excited about this opportunity," said Brookman "We are grateful to Coach Brownell for choosing to play us. Coach Brownell and his entire staff have always been great to us. This is a great game for our program, fans and the Anderson University community. Most of our fans and supporters are also big Clemson fans and supporters."

Last year's campaign saw Anderson earn its third straight appearance in the South Atlantic Conference Tournament and its seventh overall appearance since joining the league in 2010. The Trojans wrapped up last season with a 16-13 overall record, including a 10-10 mark in conference action.

The preseason contest will mark the first time the Trojans and Tigers have met on the hardwood during Brookman's five-year tenure and the second time overall in program history, with AU dropping a 62-36 decision to the Orange and Purple prior to the 2014-15 campaign.

AU stunned the College of Charleston, 65-49, early in the 2012-13 season in the Trojans' only other exhibition contest versus a Division I opponent in recent history.
