Owls Use Big Inning To Beat AC Again

KENNESAW, Ga. -- Kennesaw State broke open a close game in with a five-run seventh and went on to take a 9-3 victory over Anderson College in a non-conference game Tuesday night at Stillwell Stadium. Kennesaw State, 30-11 overall, led 3-1 entering the bottom of the seventh. The Owls loaded the bases then got an RBI single from Dustin Atkinson and a one-out grand slam by Scott Conway for an 8-1 lead. In the meeting between the two teams in Anderson on Mar. 27, Kennesaw State used a six-run inning to take a 7-2 victory. Anderson, 30-16, scored a single run in the seventh on a double by Joe Whitham, a ground out, and a single by Josh Wilson. The Trojans added two more runs in the ninth on a two-run homer by Wilson. Anderson used six pitchers in the game, and none of the Trojan pitchers went longer than two innings. Adam Dymond (3-2), who allowed two runs and four hits in two innings, took the loss for Anderson. Sammy Reed, 2-1, allowed eight hits and one run in seven innings to earn the victory for the Owls. Anderson travels to Newberry on Wednesday before returning home on Friday to face Mount Olive with the CVAC regular-season title on the line.
