ANDERSON, S.C. – The Anderson University men's soccer team and volleyball standout Emily Conlin have been named to the Anderson Federal Credit Union Gold Standard for their outstanding performances in the month of October.
Conlin was named AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Specialist of the Week twice during the month of October, as the Glendale, Ariz., helped lead the Trojans to a stellar 10-1 record, including an 8-1 mark in league action.
The senior setter currently leads the conference in assists and assists per set and ranks 10th in the conference in service aces. She is 28h in the NCAA in assists and 30th nationally in assists per set after notching eight double-doubles during the month and reached the 40+ assist plateau in seven matches, while equaling her season-high with 54 assists in the home win over Mars Hill.
The men's soccer team posted a 6-1 record during the month, with the lone loss coming against South Atlantic Conference-opponent Coker. After that setback, the Trojans ran off six straight victories, including a 3-1 victory over No. 11 Lander, in October.
Junior Gal Elyashiv earned SAC AstroTurf Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 29.
Each month, one male and one female student-athlete or teams are honored as the Anderson Federal Credit Union Gold Standard Performers of the Month for his or her performance in competition, in the classroom, or in the community.
