Volleyball’s Emily Conlin and Men’s Soccer’s Harry Ward Named to the AFCU Gold Standard

ANDERSON, S.C. – Anderson University men's soccer junior Harry Ward and volleyball standout Emily Conlin have been named to the Anderson Federal Credit Union Gold Standard for their outstanding performances in the month of September.

Conlin was named AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Specialist of the Week twice during the month of September, as the Glendale, Ariz., helped lead the Trojans to a stellar 8-2 record, including a 6-1 mark in league action.

Conlin currently leads the conference in assists and assists per set and ranks 11th in the conference in service aces per set. She is 16th in the NCAA in assists per set after notching six double-doubles during the month and reached the 40+ assist plateau in six matches, including a season-high 54 in the road win over Mars Hill.

Ward, a native of Clarksville, Ga., helped lead the Trojans to three wins and a draw in September, as the Trojans earned quality wins over nonconference opponents Lees-McRae and North Georgia.

The 5-foot-9 forward led the Trojans with 18 shots, including seven shots on goal during the month. Ward scored three goals while being credited with two assists in September. The junior started six of the seven matches while logging 534 minutes.

Each month, one male and one female student-athlete or teams are honored as the Anderson Federal Credit Union Gold Standard Performers of the Month for his or her performance in competition, in the classroom, or in the community.
