Women’s Cross Country Maintains Its Grip on Second Place in USTFCCCA Southeast Region Poll

NEW ORLEANS – Following an off-week, the Anderson University women's cross country team remained second in the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) DII Regional Rankings, as released by the organization on Tuesday afternoon.

Two-time NCAA Southeast Region defending champion Queens was atop the poll, while the Trojans remained in the second slot. Fellow South Atlantic Conference-member Wingate vaulted from 10th into the third spot after winning the Bulldog Stampede last Saturday.

Flagler continued its gradual slide, as the Saints slipped from third into fourth place in the poll after holding the second spot in the preseason poll. North Georgia remained steady in the No. 5 slot.

Lenoir-Rhyne jumped up two spots into sixth place, with Augusta at No. 7. UNC Pembroke, Mount Olive and Columbus State rounded out the 10-team poll.

Anderson is scheduled to get back on the course, Friday, Sept. 27 at the Queen City Invitational.
