Women’s Cross Country Ranked Third in Preseason USTFCCCA Southeast Region Poll

NEW ORLEANS – For the second straight year, the Anderson University women's cross country team is ranked third in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) DII Preseason Regional Rankings, as released early Tuesday afternoon.

The Trojans, who were selected second in last week's South Atlantic Conference Coaches' Preseason Poll, joins SAC-favorite and two-time Southeast Region defending Champion Queens, as one of the top three teams in the poll. Peach Belt Conference-member Flagler was tabbed second in the preseason poll.

AU secured the program's second straight appearance in the NCAA Championships a year ago by taking third place at last year's NCAA Southeast Region Championships and will be led by junior all-conference performers Olivia Evans and Olivia Rish, while boasting stellar depth on this season's roster.

Anderson opens the season Friday, Sept. 6 at the Converse Kickoff Classic.
