Women’s Cross Country Tabbed Second in USTFCCCA Southeast Region Poll

NEW ORLEANS – After winning the Converse Kickoff Classic earlier this month and following up with a ninth-place finish at last weekend's Mountain Dew Invitational in Gainesville, Fla., the Anderson University women's cross country team is ranked second in the initial U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) DII Regional Rankings, as released early Tuesday afternoon.

South Atlantic Conference-favorite and two-time NCAA Southeast Region defending Champion Queens held onto the top spot, while Anderson replaced Flagler at No. 2 after the Trojans outdistanced the Saints on Saturday in Gainesville. Flagler slipped to third, while Mount Olive and North Georgia were fourth and fifth, respectively in the poll.

Anderson is scheduled to get back on the course, Friday, Sept. 27 at the Queen City Invitational.
