Bayatyan Earns South Atlantic Conference Elite 23 Award For Women's Tennis

Sumter, S.C. – Anderson University women's tennis senior Mariam Bayatyan was named the 2024 Elite 23 winner during the South Atlantic Conference championships on April 19 in Sumter, S.C. at the Palmetto Tennis Center.

Bayatyan, a senior from South River, N.J., recorded a 4.0 GPA with a major in financial economics. This award honors the student-athlete with the top cumulative grade-point average (based on a minimum of 48 credit hours) in each of the league's 23 team championship sports.

Bayatyan played number one singles for the Trojans and posted a 7-7 overall regular season record while posting a 7-6 overall doubles record at the number 2/3 slot.

Anderson earned a spot in SAC postseason play, losing a hard-fought quarterfinal match against the No.1 seeded Wingate Bulldogs, 4-1.
