No. 38 Trojans Edge Out Emmanuel; 4-3

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, GA. – The No. 38-ranked Anderson women's tennis team fell behind early, 1-0, before winning four of the six singles matches to edge out nonconference opponent Emmanuel on Friday afternoon.

Anderson dropped two doubles matches to fall behind, 1-0. The No. 3 seeded double team, senior Katie Robeson and freshman Gia Sompayrac, battled it out to keep the Lions from sweeping the doubles portion (7-6 (8))

In singles play, Robeson, senior Mariam Bayatyan, senior Laura Alvarez Tello and Elena Ronconi earned the four points necessary to claim the match. Ronconi grinded out a three-set match to help the Black and Gold earn the win.

The Trojans return to action on October 19th when they host Young Harris. First-serve is slated for 2 pm.
