PINEHURST, N.C. - The Anderson University women's golf team slipped one spot from Monday's opening round to finish 15th at the Pinehurst Challenge, hosted by Wingate at the par 72, 5,840 yard National Golf Club on Tuesday.
Sophomore Sarah Timms' (86-93=179) led the Trojans' two-effort and finished in a four-way tie for 57th, while freshman Garyt Hamilton (91-91=182) finished three shots further back and tied for 67th.
Sophomore Natalie Feder (100-89=189) slashed 11 strokes off her first round to move up seven spots into a tie for 74th and Freshman Braiden Furtick posted a two-round 190 and shared 76th. Freshman Arista Setro (105-104=209) finished 85th.
UNC Pembroke's Meghan Moore (76-73=149) posted a 5-over-par to capture individual medalist honors by one shot over both Armstrong Atlantic's Jenna Birch (79-71=150) and King's Elizabeth Swallow (78-72=150).
The host Bulldogs (325-309=634) surged from second on Monday to win the team title by six shots over Armstrong Atlantic (332-308= 640) and seven strokes over UNC Pembroke (322-319=641), which led following Monday's opening round.
The Trojans return to action on Monday and Tuesday, April 8-9, in their final regular-season tournament at Tusculum's Agnes McAmis Memorial.
