Women’s Golf Tied for Fourth Following First Day of Invitational

ANDERSON, S.C. - Paced by sophomore Natalie Feder's 9-over-par 81, the Anderson women's golf team sits in a tie for fourth place following opening-round action Monday at the AU Invitational, being played at the Anderson Country Club's par 72, 5,810 yard layout.

Flagler College (310) leads the event by 11 shots over second place Queens (321), while Converse (323) is in third, two shots further back. Anderson (330) and Coker (330) each posted a combined 42-over-par and are in fourth. Erskine (338) is eight shots further back in sixth, with Pfeiffer (339), Southern Wesleyan (346) and Spartanburg Methodist (368) in seventh, eighth and ninth, respectively.

Olivia Ferrer (75) of Flagler leads in the quest for individual medalist honors, while Queens' Grace Glaze (76) sits one shot back and five individuals are within three strokes entering Tuesday's final round.

Feder carded five birdies en route to her team-best 81 and is tied for 11th, with newcomer Garyt Hamilton firing a 10-over-par for an 82 and sits in a tie for 17th. Senior Lindsay Parks recorded 10 pars while notching an 83 and is 19th and junior Katie Eskew (84) and sophomore Sarah Timms (86) are tied for 22nd and 27th respectively.

The tournament concludes on Tuesday with a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
