MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Anderson University senior Harlie Duncan and junior Kayson Boatner have been named to 2021 Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) Softball All-Southeast Region Second Team.
Duncan earned All-SAC First Team after posting a 13-3 overall record for the Black and Gold. The native of Tolono, Ill. pitched a team-high 116 innings, striking out 102 batters and posting a 2.41 ERA. Duncan ranks tied-2nd in the SAC in overall wins, fourth in ERA and seventh in total strikeouts.
Boatner was named to the All-SAC First Team as a first baseman. The native of Phenix City, Ala. batted a team-high .412 with seven doubles, 12 home runs, slugging percentage of .773 and 27 RBI. Boatner ranks fourth in the SAC in batting average and tied for second in total home runs.
Both Duncan and Boatner were also named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Region Second Team a week ago.
The first team selections will move on to the All-America ballot. The D2CCA All-America programs honor student-athletes in Division II athletic programs. The mission of the CCA is to encourage and promote Division II athletics and high standards of sportsmanship as important elements of higher education.
The voting, nomination and calculations are all conducted by the school's sports information directors. The teams are voted on by the members of D2SIDA, NCAA Division II Sports Information Directors Association.
The Trojans open play in the NCAA Southeast Regionals tomorrow at Noon, against South Atlantic Conference foe Tusculum.
