Boatner, Cabo, and Compton Named Jimmy John's Athletes of the Week

ANDERSON, S.C. - Kayson Boatner of the Anderson University softball team was named the Jimmy John's Female Athlete of the Week, meanwhile Aaron Cabo of men's tennis and Caleb Compton of men's soccer were named Co-Male Athletes of the Week. 

Boatner batted 8-for-16 (.500) over the four game span during the week. The native of Phenix City, Ala., hit two doubles, one home run, while driving in two runs and crossing the plate four times. Anderson went 2-2 on the week and currently sits in second place in the SAC standings.

Compton, a junior from High Point, N.C., scored three goals in the SAC quarterfinal victory over Mars Hill last week to help lead the Trojans to an 8-0 win. He was tied with Harry Ward with the most goals on the team, as the Trojans went 5-2-1 this season, in which they earned a national ranking in the United Soccer Coaches poll and a trip to the SAC Semifinals. 

Cabo earned went 2-0 in both singles action and doubles play on the week. The native of Valencia, Spain boasts an overall record of 12-1 in No. 4 singles play and 7-5 overall in No. 2 doubles. The Trojans are 10-3 overall and begin play at the SAC Tennis Championships tomorrow versus Lenoir-Rhyne. First-serve is slated for 12 pm.

Each week, one male and one female student-athlete are honored as the Jimmy John's Athlete of the Week for his or her performance in competition, in the classroom, or in the community.
