ROCK HILL, S.C. –Anderson University softball junior Cailah Niles has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Player of the Week for games played Apr. 11th- Apr. 18th, announced by the League office on Tuesday.
The native of Phenix City, Ala. batted 6-of-7 with a double, three home runs and was intentionally walked five times during the Tusculum doubleheader while drawing two more walks against Catawba. Niles's third home run of the week tied both the Anderson and South Atlantic Conference all-time career home run total (47) that is currently held by former Anderson softball stand-out Abbey Child.
Anderson (32-14, 10-8 SAC) finishes up regular season play at home on Saturday against Wingate. First pitch of the doubleheader is slated for 2 p.m.
