MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - Anderson University softball player Cailah Niles has been named to the 2017 Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) Softball All-Southeast Region Second Team.
The junior catcher ranked first in the league in RBI (55), tied for first in home runs (14) and 10th in batting average (.390). Niles also was named the SAC Statistical Champion in Slugging % (.787), Home Runs per game (0.29) and RBI per game (1.14) earning her All-SAC Second Team accolades.
The Phenix City native started all 50 games behind the plate this past season pushing her consecutive start total to 155 games. As a junior, Niles has hit a career total of 47 home runs tying both the Anderson all-time career record and the SAC all-time career record.
The voting, nomination and calculations are all conducted by the school's sports information directors. The teams are voted on by the members of D2SIDA, NCAA Division II Sports Information Directors Association.
