Trojans Finish 12th at UAH Charger Invitational

HUNTSVILLE, AL – The Anderson University men's cross country team finished in 12th place in a highly competitive field at the University of Alabama Huntsville Charger Invitational on Saturday (Oct. 7).

The field consisted of 43 teams, with Catawba being the only other South Atlantic Conference representative. Nationally 16th ranked Charleston (W.VA.), 23rd Augusta, and 29th Alabama Huntsville highlighted the competition.

Daniel Similton led the way for the Trojans by finishing 25th in a time of 24:52.10 in the 8,000m. Ty Nelson finished just outside the top-50 at a pace of 25:14.30 to take 53rd, while freshman Jake Dentler tallied a time of 25:19.90 to take 69th. Jonathan Roberts (25:40.80) and Sean McAdams (25:43.20) ran close as they took 97th and 100th, respectively. David Williams (25:54.70) and Jack Barrett (26:13.0) rounded things out for the Trojans.

Anderson will be back in action on Saturday (Oct. 21) as they travel to Newton, N.C. for the SAC Championships. More information can be found at autrojans.com as the race approaches.
