Men’s Cross Country Captures Ninth at NCAA Southeast Regional

WINGATE, N.C. - Sophomore Mason Hazel claimed 16th place to help lead the Anderson men's cross country team to a ninth-place finish at the 2015 NCAA Cross Country Southeast Regional, which was hosted on Wingate University's campus on Saturday.

Mount Olive won the 10K race, while Mars Hill and Queens finished second and third, respectively, earning bids to the NCAA Division National Championships later this month. The Trojans were the next-highest finishing squad from the South Atlantic Conference, behind the Lions and Royals.

Hazel posted a time of 34:13.6, while junior Ned Kennedy crossed the line in a time of 36:09.0 to claim 54th and junior Ben Boerma placed 57th in a time of 36:15.4.

Juniors Michael Burch (37:21.2) and Jesse Patrick (37:54.6) finished 89th and 105th, respectively, while freshman John Drummond rounded out the Trojan contingent in 116th with a time of 38:41.4.
