Men’s Cross Country Ranked 10th in Southeast Region

NEW ORLEANS - Following an eighth-place finish at last weekend's Bulldog Stampede, the Anderson University men's cross country team slipped one spot to 10th in the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) DII Southeast Region Rankings, as released Tuesday afternoon.

The 8K event was billed as a preview of the 2015 NCAA Southeast Regional and featured a 19-team field that included seven of the regionally top-ranked teams. Mount Olive, ranked first in the (USTFCCCA) poll for three consecutive weeks, outpaced No. 2-ranked Queens for the team championship.

This week's top eight teams mirrored last week's poll, with the host Bulldogs moving into ninth after not being ranked a week ago, but finishing seventh in the Stampede. UNC Pembroke, Georgia College, Mars Hill, Columbus State, Augusta and Lincoln Memorial rounded out the top eight squads, with AU holding the No. 10 slot behind Wingate.

Anderson will get back in action Friday, Oct. 9, when the Trojans are scheduled to make their second appearance in the Queen City to compete in the Royals Challenge.
