Men’s Cross Country Ranked Ninth in First Regular-Season Regional Poll

NEW ORLEANS - After opening the season unranked, the Anderson University men's cross country team is ranked ninth in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) DII Regional Rankings, as released Tuesday.

The Trojans have posted impressive outings on consecutive weekends and have garnered attention by breaking into the top-10. Regional powerhouse Mount Olive was the lone Conference Carolinas' squad in the poll and tops the rankings, while four South Atlantic Conference teams made an appearance. The Peach Belt Conference led the way with five teams in the poll.

Queens jumped two spots and held the second spot, with Columbus State and UNC Pembroke holding the third and fourth slots, respectively. Georgia College was fifth, while Mars Hill held the sixth position. GRU Augusta, Lincoln Memorial, Anderson and Montevallo comprised the remaining four squads.

Anderson returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 26, when the Trojans are scheduled to compete in the Bulldog Stampede, hosted by Wingate.
