ROCK HILL, S.C. – Anderson University men's soccer junior Gal Elyashiv was named The South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Men's Defensive Soccer Player of the Week for matches played during week eight of the 2019 season.  

Elyashiv, a junior from Rishon Le Zion, Israel, posted two shutout victories for the Trojans last week. A 1-0 win over Erskine and a 1-0- win over Lenoir-Rhyne. He made seven saves against Erskine and added eight saves in the victory over Lenoir-Rhyne. He finished the week with 15 saves and a 0.00 goals against average. This is Elyashiv's first defensive player of the week accolade this season.
