Tyrer, Ward and Cox-Ashwood Earn South Atlantic Conference Post Season Honors

ROCK HILL, S.C. - Anderson University men's soccer placed three on the all-conference team, as graduate student Ryan Tyrer and junior Harry Ward earned second-team honors, while junior Alexander Cox-Ashwood earned honorable mention accolades, announced by the league office on Wednesday.

Tyrer anchored the backline during regular season action which included seven shutouts. Tyrer started all 17 matches and scored one goal and was credited with one assist.

Ward made 17 game appearances with 16 starts for the Trojans. The junior forward led the team in goals with eight, while adding three assists. The Clarksville, Ga. native took 38 shots with 21 coming on goal.

Cox-Ashwood played in 17 matches while making 12 starts for the Trojans. The junior forward scored three goals, including a game-winner and was credited with three assists on the season.

Junior keeper, Gal Elyashiv, was awarded the Stat Champion in Save Percentage with an .809 average.

Anderson will meet up with No.8 Coker in the SAC Championship semifinals on Friday. Kick-off is scheduled for 11 a.m. at Sportsplex Matthews in Matthews, N.C.
