Rock Hill, S.C. - Anderson University women's basketball senior
Madison Floyd was named AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Player
of the Week for games played Feb. 15-21, as announced by the
conference office on Monday.
On the week, Floyd averaged 19 points on 13-22 for an impressive
59.1 percent from the floor while shooting a staggering 61.5
percent on 8-of-13 from three point land. Floyd also shot 100
percent from the free throw line making four out of four attempts,
helping her maintain a 90.5 percentage from the charity stripe on
the year.
In the road win over Brevard, the 5-foot-6 guard led Anderson in
scoring with a game high 18 points on 6-of-10 shooting from the
field and 4-of-7 from behind the arc, adding two assists and two
steals. Floyd's four made 3-point baskets against the Tornados
moved her up to No. 7 on Anderson's Career Made 3-Point list.
The Cowpens, S.C., native continued her stellar play with a game
high 20 points in a home win versus Lenior-Rhyne. Floyd drained
4-of-6 3-point baskets moving her within five made treys to take
over the sixth spot on the Trojan all-time list.
Floyd and the rest of the Trojans return to the Abney Athletic
Center on Wednesday when they welcome Lincoln Memorial for their
final regular season home game. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m.
