Trojans Down Railsplitters in Conference Home Opener, 13-9

ANDERSON, S.C. -- Sophomore Radyn Badraun (Mission Viejo, Calif.) led the way for the Trojans in the South Atlantic Conference opener at Spero Financial Field on Wednesday night, tallying four goals, five ground balls and an assist on the night.

Anderson returned to the win-column with its 13-9 defeat over Lincoln Memorial. Following three defeats to Top-25 nationally ranked teams, the Trojans bounced back against LMU, finding success both in the attack and defensively.

"Great team battle with contributions from a lot of guys," said head coach Albert Mitchell. "We weathered a tough storm in-game and in the season, so I'm proud of the heart that these guys showed tonight."

The contest saw AU's offense outshoot the Railsplitters 52-34, with Logan Gaddis (Norcross, Ga.), Max Calabrese (Auburn, Ga.) and Tristan Kirkham (Langley, B.C.) each tallying braces. Matthew Rodgers (Carmel, Ind.) and PJ Fenchak (Lutherville Timonium, Md.) also found the back of the net for the Black and Gold, recording their sixth and ninth goals of the season, respectively.

The Trojans won 19 of 25 faceoffs, with Aiden Dixon (Fores Hill, Md.) going 11-13 and AJ Rush (Chantilly, Va.) winning 8 of 12. Rush also picked up his second goal of the season.

Recording 12 saves against the Railsplitter offense, Hunter Klosterman (Cumming Ga.) notched his first win as a starter this season. AU forced 15 turnovers and totaled 48 ground balls--both of which are season-highs.

Anderson continues its home stint with a nonconference matchup against No. 15 Lander on Saturday (March 16) at noon.
