Ten Trojans Score in Men’s Lacrosse Opener at Young Harris

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. -- Anderson's men's lacrosse team picked up an impressive 20-5 road win over Young Harris on Saturday to kick off their 2024 campaign.

Graduate-transfer Tristan Kirkham (Langley, BC) opened the scoring for the Trojans with two back-to-back goals midway through the first quarter. The Trojans led the Mountain Lions at halftime by a score of 9-4 as sophomores Radyn Badraun (Mission Viejo, Calif.) and Brayden Bushnoe (Myrtle Beach, S.C.) and graduate-transfer PJ Fenchak (Lutherville Timonium, Md.) joined Kirkham on the scoreboard.

The second half saw Trojan first-of-the-season goals from sophomore Ryan Bitterman (Alpharetta, Ga.), junior Max Calabrese (Auburn, Ga.), senior Logan Gaddis (Norcross, Ga.), freshman AJ Rush (Chantilly, Va.), sophomore Matthew Rodgers (Carmel, Ind.) and junior Jack Trevino (Sugar Hill, Ga.)

"Good to start the season 1-0 against a tough team in a tough place to play," said head coach Albert Mitchell. "It was great to see so many involved in the scoring and on the defensive end. True team effort today."

In total, ten different Trojans tallied goals on the day, while seven players recorded assists. The squad picked up 54 shots and totaled 46 ground balls. Kirkham led the team with five goals, followed by Badraun with four.

The Trojans return home next Saturday (Feb. 10) to host North Greenville at Spero Financial Field. Faceoff is scheduled for 7pm.
