Women’s Basketball Moves to No. 15 in National Media Poll

DURANGO, Colo. - After receiving its highest regional ranking on Monday, Anderson University women's basketball claimed its highest ranking in the National Media Poll, sponsored by D2SIDA, as the Trojans landed in the No. 15 spot, announced by the national committee on Tuesday.

AU is one of nine teams in Division II with undefeated overall records on the season, as it jumped seven spots from last week's national poll. The 15th position marks Anderson's highest ranking in the two-year existence of the media poll, overtaking the 17th slot the Black and Gold was positioned in the final edition of the 2014-15 poll.

The Trojans are off to their best start to a season in the NCAA era with eight straight wins, including six within the South Atlantic Conference. Dating back to last season, Anderson has posted 24 straight regular-season wins.

Limestone, AU's next opponent, received the top spot in this week's poll after landing second last Tuesday. Fort Hays State, which dropped to Southwest Baptist for its first setback of the season, fell out of the No. 1 spot and fell into a tie for 13th with Union. Joining Anderson and LC in the national poll from the Southeast Region is Columbus State in the No. 23 position. The Cougars were receiving votes in last week's poll.

The Trojans and the top-ranked Saints will tip-off in a New Year's Eve showdown at the Abney Athletic Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m.
