ANDERSON, S.C. - After beginning last week with a disappointing
overtime road loss at Carson-Newman and following up with a
victory, the Anderson women's basketball team slipped to No. 21 in
the latest USA TODAY Sports NCAA Division II Top-25 Coaches Poll,
as released Tuesday afternoon.
The Trojans, who are 17-4 overall and lead the South Atlantic
Conference standings by three games over Mars Hill and Newberry,
are the only SAC team in the WBCA Poll, and is one of three teams
from the Southeast Region in the poll. Conference Carolinas' member
Limestone moved up one spot to third this week, while Peach Belt
Conference-member Clayton State fell out of the poll, but PBC
school Columbus State took over the No. 24th spot.
Anderson will be looking for its second straight win when the Trojans go on the road to Brevard Wednesday. Tip-off is scheduled for 4:45 p.m.
