Trojans Earn Twentieth Win Of The Season With Home Victory Over Mars Hill; 89-74

ANDERSON, S.C. –Anderson women's basketball (20-7, 12-7 SAC) earned its 20th win of the season with its victory over Mars Hill (13-16, 7-12 SAC), 89-74, on Wednesday evening the Abney Athletic Center.

"Excited to get the home win and honestly happy for the team to reach the 20-win mark for the season," stated head coach Jonathon Barbaree.

"We battled hard down the stretch and hit some timely free throws against what I think is one of the toughest teams in the conference," explained Barbaree. "Coach Tsitouris has done an amazing job with them this year and we knew it was going to be a challenge tonight."

"One more home game to go," added Barbaree. "Please join us Saturday to recognize our seniors."

Three different Trojans scored 20 points or more with senior Zamiya Passmore dropping in a game-high 24 points. Passmore also added five assists, three rebounds and a steal to her stat-line. Graduate Brittney Stafford and sophomore Ashlyn Sheridan scored 21 and 20 points, respectively.

Mars Hill had four players reach double-digit scoring with Tateyoina Harris netting a team-high 18 points. Reserve Naja Ngongba scored 17 points while Maddie Gillie recorded 11 points and Elyseia Brown chipped in 10 points for the Lions.

Anderson will finalize its regular season play when it hosts SAC opponent Tusculum on Saturday. Tip-off is slated for 2 pm.
