McGaha Sits Atop Leaderboard as Trojans Maintain Lead at NCAA South Regionals

CLEVELAND, Tenn. -- Matching her performance from the opening round, junior Kennedy McGaha (Honea Path, S.C.) fired a second round 68 (-4) to sit alone atop the leaderboard at 8-under as the Anderson University women's golf team continues to lead the field by 12 strokes at the 2024 NCAA South Regional at the Cleveland Country Club on Tuesday, May 7.

The Trojans as a team shot just one-over on the day as they continued to lead at -5 overall for the tournament. Flagler currently stands second at +7 as a team while Lynn rounds out the top-3 at +11.

Sophomore Kennedy Gooding (Lexington, S.C.) currently sits alone in fifth on the individual side of the scoreboard as she notched an even-par round of 72 today. Senior Jessica Rathbone (Montpelier, Va.) sits one-over on the week as she carded a 74 in the second round of action, placing her tied for seventh. 

Junior Zoey Iglesias (Port St. Lucie, Fla.) remains in the top-30 of the leaderboard as she sits seven-over for the week while sophomore Aly Francis (Stockbridge, Ga.) bounced back in the second round with a 75 (+3) to move up to a tie for 38th in the field.

The Trojans look to maintain and extend their advantage on the final day of action tomorrow, May 8, as they kick off their third round at 9:06 a.m. Anderson needs to finish in the top-5 as a team to punch their ticket to the NCAA National Championships in Winter Garden, Fla. later this month.
