Bulldogs Avenge Earlier Loss To Trojans; 88-62

WINGATE, N.C. – Anderson University women's basketball (19-7, 11-7 SAC) drop its South Atlantic Conference road matchup with Wingate (18-8, 13-5 SAC), 88-62, on Saturday afternoon at Cuddy Arena.

After playing a fairly even first quarter (21-19), Wingate distanced itself following the completion of each remaining 10-minute period, avenging an earlier loss to the Trojans back in mid-January.

Anderson placed three players in double-figure scoring with junior Diamond McDowell scoring a team-high 15 points. Graduate Brittney Stafford and sophomore Ashlyn Sheridan each chipped in 10 points apiece. Senior Nelliah Wilson grabbed 12 rebounds for the Black and Gold while netting seven points.

Wingate placed five players in double-digits with guard Emily Hedge scoring a game-high 25 points and most notable forward Laney Beale recorded a triple-double for the Bulldogs. Beale scored 10 points, grabbed 15 rebounds and was credited with 11 assists.

Anderson returns to the friendly confines of the Abney Athletic Center on Wednesday to welcome Mars Hill. Tip-off is slated for 5:30 pm
