Trojan Offense Dominates Catawba, Earn Fourth SAC Win

SALISBURY, N.C. -- Anderson's men's lacrosse team advanced to 4-2 in South Atlantic Conference play with a 21-10 victory over Catawba on Saturday.

"I'm proud of the team's overall effort today," said head coach Albert Mitchell. "Great to see our team shoot and play as fast as we did today against a very tough team. We shared the ball well on offense and played great on-ball defense."

The Trojans jumped off to an early lead and never slowed down. Brayden Bushnoe (Myrtle Beach, S.C.) opened the scoring in the first minute of the contest, followed by a goal from Logan Gaddis (Norcross, Ga.) and two goals from PJ Fenchak (Lutherville Timonium, Md.) to put AU up 4-0 on the Indians.

The Black and Gold added to the tally in the second fifteen with goals from Radyn Badraun (Mission Viejo, Calif.), Nick Calabrese (Auburn, Ga.), Ryan Bitterman (Alpharetta, Ga.) Fenchak and Gaddis.

The third quarter saw Catawba score first, before AU totaled seven unanswered on the Indian defense with goals from Tristan Kirkham (Langley, B.C.), Keaton Mathews (Simpsonville, S.C.), Matt Morgenroth (Dacula, Ga.), Eli Marshall (Kennesaw, Ga.), Calabrese and Fenchak.

Anderson won 25 of 32 faceoffs, with Aiden Dixon (Forest Hill, Md.) winning 13 of 14 and AJ Rush (Chantilly, Va.) winning 10 of 13. The Trojans recorded 56 shots on the contest and claimed 42 ground balls.

The Trojans return home next Saturday (April 6) to face No. 6 Wingate at noon.
