Golden and Roush Earn All-SAC Honors; Golden Named Elite 23 Winner

SALISBURY, N.C. – Emily Golden of the Anderson University women's cross-country team was named the 2023 Elite 23 winner after the conclusion of the South Atlantic Conference championships on Saturday (Oct. 23) in Newton, N.C. while earning all-SAC honors with freshman Kennedy Roush.

Golden, a senior from Tifton, GA, recorded a 4.0 GPA with a major in kinesiology. This award honors the student-athlete with the top cumulative grade-point average (based on a minimum of 48 credit hours) in each of the league's 23 team championship sports.

Roush, a freshman from Greenville, S.C., earned second-team honors and a spot on the all-freshman team for the season after finishing 13th in the championship with a time of 21:27.03. Golden took 15th place (21:33.66) and earned third-team recognition in addition to her Elite 23 award.

The Trojans will be back in action on Saturday (Nov. 4) for the NCAA Regional Championships in Oakwood, Georgia. More information can be found at autrojans.com as the meet approaches.
