Trojans Finish 10th at UAH Charger Invitational

HUNTSVILLE, AL - The Anderson University women's cross-country team finished in 10th place in a highly competitive field at the University of Alabama Huntsville Charger Invitational on Saturday (Oct. 7).

The field consisted of 41 teams, with Catawba and Lincoln Memorial being the other South Atlantic Conference representatives. Nationally 17th ranked Cedarville, 21st Tampa, and 30th Catawba highlighted the competitive field.

Emily Golden led the way for the Trojans by finished 45th in the 5,000m in a time of 18:34.50. Emma Whitaker was close behind for second on the team with a time of 18:45. Freshman Kennedy Roush came in third (66th) at a pace of 18:53.20. Lucy Schmitt (18:56.20) and Sarah Rudolph (18:56.60) ran step by step to finish 72nd and 74th, respectively.

Faith Nelson finished inside the top-100 with a time of 19:05.80 for 88th. Mclayne Wyatt (19:37.70), Hagan Wilson (20:18.70). Hannah Reedy (20:26.70), Madison Crumley (20:49.50), Hannah Williams (21:36.70), and Lindsey Bright (22:14.60) rounded things out for the Trojans.

Anderson will be back in action on Saturday (Oct. 21) as they travel to Newton, N.C. for the SAC Championships. More information can be found at autrojans.com as the race approaches.
