Women’s Cross Country Remains Fifth in Regional Poll

NEW ORLEANS - As the women's cross country team looks forward to the Bulldog Stampede on Saturday, the Trojans remain fifth in the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) DII Regional Rankings, as released Tuesday.

The top six teams in the poll remained unchanged, as Peach Belt Conference members Montevallo and North Georgia continue to hold onto the top two slots, with Queens and Wingate just behind in third and fourth, respectively. The Trojans, who were sixth in the preseason poll, remained at No. 5 for the second consecutive week, while UNC Pembroke still occupied the sixth spot after jumping into the poll a week ago.

Flagler edged up one spot into seventh this week, while Columbus State (No. 8) and Young Harris (No. 9) each made their first appearances of the season. Lincoln Memorial slipped three spots and rounded out the 10-team poll, with GRU Augusta and Coker falling out of the rankings.

Anderson gets back in action on Saturday, when the Trojans are slated to compete in the Bulldog Stampede, hosted by Wingate.
