Women’s Cross Country Ranked Sixth in Preseason Regional Poll

NEW ORLEANS - On the eve of the 2015 campaign, the Anderson University women's cross country team is ranked sixth in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) DII Regional Preseason Rankings released Tuesday.

The Trojans joined third-ranked Wingate, fourth-ranked Queens, No. 8 Lincoln Memorial and 10th-ranked Mars Hill as representatives of the South Atlantic Conference in the preseason poll, with the Peach Belt Conference garnering the other five spots, including the top two slots (Montevallo and North Georgia). The top six teams in the poll directly reflect the final 2014 results.

Wingate is the reigning SAC Champion, while Queens captured back-to-back regional titles in 2010 and 2011.

The Trojans began last season in the 10th slot in the poll before wrapping up the 2014 campaign in the sixth position.

Anderson opens the season Friday, when the Trojans are slated to compete at the Royals Twilight Meet in Charlotte, N.C.
