GREENEVILLE, Tenn. - Senior Laura Buyers carded a two-day 11-over par 155 to lead the Anderson University women's golf team, as the Trojans finished in a tie for 10th at Tusculum's Agnes McAmis Memorial Invitational at the par 72, 5805 yard Link Hills Country Club.
Buyers (79-76=155) moved up 11 spots and finished in a tie for 23rd, while senior Kalyn Johnson (84-78=162) shaved six strokes from her opening-day effort on Monday to move up 16 spots and shared the 43rd spot.
Freshman Sarah Timms carded a final-round 83 and finished with a two-day total 165, tied for 53rd, while sophomore Katie Eskew (81-85=166) finished one shot further back in a tie for 57th. Freshman Natalie Feder (86-87=173) posted a 76th-place finish.
The host Pioneers won the event for the fourth time, finishing a comfortable nine shots ahead of runner-up Lincoln Memorial, who posted a 604. Anderson (648) finished in a tie with Erskine (648), as both teams were just one shot behind ninth-place North Georgia.
The Trojans play host to Erskine on Thursday, April 12, as the two teams square off in a match-play format at Cobb's Glen.
